Starting your journey with The Independent Travel Consultants is an exciting step. Our training has been carefully designed to guide you from your first introduction to the travel industry through to launching your own travel business with confidence.


The training journey is structured in clear stages so that you can focus on learning the foundations first, before moving into the preparation required to begin working with clients. Each stage builds on the one before it, ensuring you develop both the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed.


All formal training modules are completed on our learning platform, Coassemble, where your progress and module completion are recorded. This Training Hub sits alongside the platform and helps guide you through the overall journey, providing resources, support, and information about what happens next.


Below is an overview of the stages you will move through on your path to becoming a live Independent Travel Consultant.


Stage 1: Welcome and Orientation


Your journey begins with an introduction to The Independent Travel Consultants and how our business operates.


During this stage you will become familiar with:


  • the structure of our business
  • how independent consultants operate
  • the opportunities available within the travel industry
  • the support and training available to you


This stage is designed to give you a clear understanding of the model and set the foundations for the training that follows.


Stage 2: Foundations Training


Foundations Training is where you begin developing your core knowledge of the travel industry and the skills required to operate as an Independent Travel Consultant.


This training is delivered through Coassemble, where you will work through a series of modules covering topics such as:


  • understanding the travel industry
  • travel products and suppliers
  • enquiry handling
  • delivering great customer experiences
  • the booking process
  • travel regulations and customer protection


These modules are designed to provide you with the essential knowledge required before you begin handling client enquiries or making bookings.


You can complete this training at a pace that suits you, allowing you to build your understanding step by step.


Stage 3: Preparation for Launch


Once your Foundations Training is complete, the focus shifts to preparing you for your launch as a live consultant.


This stage helps ensure you understand how the business operates in practice and prepares you for the responsibilities of running your travel business.


During this stage we will focus on:


  • understanding how enquiries are managed
  • learning how bookings are structured and processed
  • developing confidence when communicating with clients
  • becoming familiar with the consultant processes and expectations


You may also attend additional training sessions or workshops during this stage to help reinforce your knowledge.


Stage 4: Go Live Readiness


Before you go live, we will complete a final review to ensure you feel confident and prepared to begin working with clients.


This stage is not a test - it is simply an opportunity to make sure you understand the key processes and feel ready to begin operating as an Independent Travel Consultant.


Once this review is complete and everything is in place, we will schedule your Go Live date.


Stage 5: Go Live


Your Go Live day marks the official launch of your travel business.


At this stage you will receive access to the systems and tools required to operate as a consultant, including:


  • your consultant email account
  • booking and quotation systems
  • access to the full consultant intranet
  • operational resources and support tools


From this point forward you will be able to begin working with clients and building your travel business.


Even after you go live, support and training continues. Ongoing learning, supplier training, and development sessions will help you continue growing your knowledge and confidence.
