Claiming Commission
How Commission Works
All commission earned from client bookings is paid into the Jamie Wake Travel Protected Trust Services (PTS) client trust account.
Funds cannot be released until the supplier has been paid in full and the client’s travel arrangements are financially secure.
Once supplier payments are made and the booking is reconciled, PTS releases the balance of funds — representing the consultant’s commission — to Jamie Wake Travel.
Jamie Wake Travel then pays the consultant their due commission, less any applicable fees or agreed deductions, upon receipt of a valid invoice.
Commission Calculation
Consultant commissions are calculated as follows:
(Gross Commission – Booking Costs) × Consultant Percentage
Each booking earns a commission percentage based on supplier rates or negotiated margins.
Consultants receive the net commission value after PTS processing fees or third-party payment charges (if applicable).
Commissions are paid only on confirmed, fully paid bookings once all supplier invoices have been settled.
Booking costs include:
- PTS booking fee
- SFI / SAFI (if applicable)
- Incoming card charges
- Reconciliation fees
- Supplier payment fees
- APC
- PTRC
- Credit/debit card merchant fees
The net profit remaining after these charges is split in accordance with the commission structure below.
Commission Structure
Consultants earn:
✔ 80%
Default commission rate on all bookings once suppliers/ATOL holders are paid or travel is completed.
✔ 85%
For repeat bookings from the same customer.
Repeat bookings strengthen retention, reduce acquisition cost, and demonstrate high service quality. The enhanced commission rate rewards relationship-building.
✔ 90% (Performance Tier)
Awarded once a consultant reaches £40,000 gross commission within a 12-month cycle starting from their personal go-live date.
These performance tiers are incentive-based enhancements, not contractual entitlements.
They reward:
- High productivity
- Strong sales performance
- Long-term business growth
- Lower support requirements due to experience
Because these tiers are performance-based incentives, they can be reviewed annually to reflect commercial conditions.
Maintaining Eligibility for the 90% Tier
Consultants who achieved the 90% performance tier in the previous earnings year will automatically retain the 90% commission rate for the first three months of their new earnings year.
The earnings year is based on the consultant’s individual go-live date.
To retain the 90% rate beyond this grace period, consultants must achieve at least 25% of the £40,000 threshold (£10,000 gross commission) within the first three months of their new earnings year.
If £10,000 gross commission is achieved within this period, the 90% rate continues uninterrupted.
If the £10,000 target is not achieved, the consultant’s commission rate reverts to 80% (or 85% for repeat bookings) until they re-qualify by reaching £40,000 in their new personal earnings year.
This structure rewards consistent performance while providing a fair grace period to manage natural seasonal fluctuations.
Monitoring Eligibility for 85% and 90% Commission
The following monitoring process is used:
Monthly Internal Monitoring
Each consultant has a personal earnings year beginning on their go-live date.
- A central internal spreadsheet records:
- Monthly gross commission
- Year-to-date totals
- Eligibility for the 90% tier
At the start of each month, management updates the tracker.
When 90% Is Awarded
As soon as a consultant exceeds £40,000 gross commission within their personal earnings year, all future commissions (until reset) are paid at 90%.
Monthly Commission Claim Cycle
To maintain accuracy and timely processing, the following monthly cycle applies:
Step 1 — Consultant Submits Claim Form
Commission claim forms must be sent to jamie@jamiewaketravel.co.uk
Deadline: Last day of each month
A claim may only be submitted when:
- Suppliers are fully paid

- OR the client has returned from travel
Step 2 — Verification by Management
Claims are reviewed by the 7th of the month
Verification includes:
- Supplier payments confirmed
- Booking costs accurately entered
- Card fee calculations correct
- PTRC/SFI/SAFI/APC applied correctly
- Invoice amounts matching the claim sheet totals
Step 3 — Invoice Required
Once verified, consultants will be asked to submit an invoice to Wake Enterprises Limited
Invoice must show:
- Correct total
- Consultant name
- Booking references
- Bank details for payment
Step 4 — Payment Timelines
Commission payments are made on or around the 10th of the month, provided a valid invoice is received.

Payment Timelines
Because payments are managed via the PTS trust account, there is a short delay between the client’s final payment and the release of commission.
The typical timeline is as follows:
Client pays into the trust account.
PTS reconciles payment, pays suppliers, and confirms funds are available for release.
Jamie Wake Travel applies for and receives funds from PTS (usually within 3–5 working days after suppliers have been paid).
Consultant commission is paid to the consultant’s registered bank account upon receipt of a valid invoice.
Commission payments are made monthly to consultants.
Adjustments and Deductions
Commission may be adjusted in the following circumstances:
Amendments or cancellations: If a client cancels or changes a booking before travel, any refunded portion of the booking will result in a proportional deduction of commission.
Chargebacks or supplier refunds: If PTS must refund part of a booking, corresponding commission will be reclaimed or offset against future payments.
Unpaid supplier invoices: Commission cannot be released until all supplier invoices linked to that booking have been fully paid.
Shared bookings: For bookings made collaboratively between consultants, commission will be divided based on pre-agreed splits confirmed in writing prior to payment.
Consultant Errors or Underfunded Bookings: If a booking has been made where the commission or margin is insufficient to cover booking costs, supplier payments, or PTS fees (including personal bookings or low-value bookings where fees were not accounted for), any shortfall paid by the business will be reclaimed. This amount will be deducted from the consultant’s next commission payment or offset against future commission claims.
Any deductions or adjustments will be fully itemised on the commission statement.
Commission Statements
Each consultant receives a commission statement with every payment.
This statement will include:
- Client or booking reference number
- Supplier name
- Total booking value
- Gross and net commission
- Deductions (if applicable)
- Date commission released
Consultants should review their statement and notify jamie@jamiewaketravel.co.uk within 7 days of any discrepancies.
Disputed Commission or Errors
If you believe an error has occurred, please email jamie@jamiewaketravel.co.uk with the booking reference and full details.
Discrepancies will be reviewed and resolved as quickly as possible.
Where appropriate, adjustments will be made in the next payment cycle.
Final Commission Payments
In the event that a consultant leaves The Independent Travel Consultants network, any pending commission will be processed after:
- All client bookings have travelled or been completed.
- Any outstanding client balances, expenses, or supplier payments have cleared.
- Any due deductions (licence fees, admin charges, etc.) have been reconciled.
Final commission payments will then be made to the consultant’s nominated bank account.
